Most chopsticks are made in China,
where several hundred manufacturers turn out 63 billion pairs annually,
but they are running short of wood.
Wood is something that Americus has plenty of.

• running short of: 다 사용해가는, 떨어져가는

대부분의 젓가락은 중국에서 만들어지는 데요,
수백 개의 공장에서 연간 630억 짝의 젓가락을 생산하고 있습니다.
하지만 중국에선 나무가 점점 고갈되고 있습니다.
나무는 아메리커스에서 아주 풍부한 것 입니다. 

Headline 2. Want a smart baby? TV's not going to help

Some baby doctors have object to the baby-video idea. 
Even the most imaginative shows are no substitute for human interaction, 
say the pediatrician. 
The worry that the channel could become a cheap baby-sitter.

• substitute for: 대리자, 대용품

• interaction: 상호작용

• pediatrician: 소아과 의사.

몇몇 소아과 의사들은 유아비디오를 반대하고 있습니다.
그들은 가장 창의적인 프로그램 조차도 사람과의 상호 작용을 대체 할 수 없다고 주장합니다.
그들은 유아비디오를 방영하는 TV채널이 싸구려 보모로 전락할 수 있다고 우려합니다.
